Greach 2016 – The Spanish Groovy Conference.
Greach is the Spanish Groovy Conference and this year was its fifth anniversary. Salenda was the first company in Spain to work with the Groovy & Grails technologies so it is a very important event in our calendar that we are proudly sponsoring. We were happy not only to attend to all the great talks but also to be a part of the Speakers’ team.
It was a two conference days where some of the biggest names and companies in the Groovy development scene were present. 29 different talks, 150 attendees from all around the world. The activities were divided into 45-minutes workshops and a 15-minutes break to exchange with other attendees.

The level of the talks were really varied, from easy levels like the advantages of grails talk or an introduction to Grooscript, to high level talks which focused in Groovy compiler or Geb testing.
The last one, in our opinion, was really useful because Jacob AAE, the speaker who told us everything about Geb, explained the correct way of doing functional testing with Spock, checking with that, if our methods to write test are correct or we must improve them.
Moreover, we must stand out that Greach is always important for us. We have been Greach sponsors and our team has been involved giving talks all years from its beginning, therefore this year could not be different. A member of Salenda’s team, shared with all attendees a talk about JSON Views. As an example, we did a short live coding for demonstrating how to start using them and a brief introduction about new Grails profiles functionality.
We were able to meet with other Groovy’s lovers and to have a good time. Thank you to the team for the organisation and see you next year!
